Disney Accessibility Hub

Role

Product Designer (Project Lead)

Focus

Research, Team Building, Prototyping

Disney Parks and Resorts needed a unified way to embed accessibility into its design process. Efforts were fragmented across teams using different tools and standards. I led a small volunteer team to prototype a shared resource that made accessibility easier to learn and apply.

Overview

How could designers, developers, and managers across the organization learn, plan, and deliver accessibility in a consistent way?

Challenge

Approach

  • Reviewed existing tools and practices to spot gaps.

  • Studied WCAG standards and looked at how other companies approached accessibility.

  • Partnered with teammates who had accessibility experience to map the full journey—from onboarding to delivery—and create a working prototype of a shared hub with guides, tools, and workflows.

Created a proof-of-concept hub that became the foundation for a company-wide accessibility proposal—helping new designers onboard faster and improving consistency across products.
