Hilton Honors App

The Hilton Honors app enables travelers to search, book, and manage their stays and rewards in over 4500 hotels worldwide. I joined the team as the lead UX/Visual designer for iOS, and my role was leading the team in delivering pixel perfect designs aligned with Hilton’s business and end user goals.

Creating a Consistent Experience Across the App

One of my objectives at Hilton was shepherding the release of a major app redesign that included new tablet support. Joining the effort midpoint, I discovered conflicts with many of the design’s UX and UI patterns. With several designers working on different sections and no working style guide, several inconsistencies surfaced. There were multiple transition behaviors, type and button styles, and spacing and alignment rules. To address this, I led the team on a survey and examination of all screens and flows, and together came up with a cohesive style that served as a guide for all designs.

Fun Finder was a new app function utilizing beacon technology, that allowed guests at featured resorts to be notified and navigated to events happening around them. I created UI styles these that were both distinct to the feature and consistent with the app.
